Jinan eyes full employment this year

Jinan will bolster efforts to boost full employment this year, according to a news conference on human resources and social security held in Jinan on Feb 28.

According to the conference, Jinan will step up the development of community micro-businesses, expand the functions of the talent employment intelligence platform, promote the use of an online employment app called Jinan Yunpin, establish flexible employment service modules, and create a number of certified "micro-factories", "micro-creative spaces", "entrepreneurial districts", and "community employment stations". These efforts are intended to help construct a "15-minute employment service circle" and a community-based "micro-ecosystem" to help vulnerable groups access employment services within their vicinity.

Jinan will advance "government-industry-university-enterprise" cooperation, carry out policy-based recruitment, and create 15,000 public welfare positions in urban and rural areas.

It will also strengthen efforts to promote entrepreneurship, establish a Yellow River Basin university student entrepreneurship incubation base, form an entrepreneurship incubation base alliance, host the 7th Jinan Entrepreneurship Competition, optimize entrepreneurship support policies, and strive to disburse 3 billion yuan ($416.99 million) in entrepreneurship loans and job stability loans this year, providing substantial support for various groups of business founders.

Jinan will also coordinate resources from vocational schools, higher vocational colleges, and key enterprises, promote the grouping of vocational education, have leading enterprises conduct advanced skills training, and have key enterprises lead industry-specific training, aiming to offer high-standard technical training to 160,000 people.

In addition, Jinan will optimize employment services by establishing employment and entrepreneurship empowerment centers in some universities, providing comprehensive services for students both pre- and post-graduation, and strengthening vocational planning, job recommendations, and employment and entrepreneurship training throughout the entire process.
