Hangzhou promotes Global Digital Trade Expo in Boston

Hangzhou held a promotional event for the third Global Digital Trade Expo in Boston on the afternoon of Feb 28 local time.

Over 50 representatives from the Chinese Consulate General in New York, the Boston city government, the North American Hangzhou Association, and several enterprises and universities attended the event.

The event featured an introduction to Hangzhou's investment environment and details on the Global Digital Trade Expo. In 2023, the city's digital trade reached 319.07 billion yuan ($44.33 billion), with 194 cross-border e-commerce companies and 166 service trade export companies, each exceeding 100 million yuan in revenue.

The second Global Digital Trade Expo held last November attracted 1,018 onsite exhibitors from 25 countries and regions, with over 15,000 professional buyers participating. It resulted in 113 signed project agreements totaling over 130 billion yuan in investments, along with more than 100 forums and business activities, showcasing over 530 premier projects.

The third edition is scheduled to take place from Sept 25 to 29 at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. The event will comprise sections on conferences, exhibitions, industry interactions, and the "Digital Trade Online" platform, with a total exhibition area exceeding 150,000 square meters.

Since the establishment of sister city ties between Hangzhou and Boston in 1982, digital trade has further strengthened the connection between the two cities. During the promotional event, representatives emphasized leveraging the expo as a bridge to deepen cooperation and exchanges between Hangzhou and Boston in digital economy, digital trade, smart cities, international finance, international shipping, and high-end exhibitions.
