Mo Fuyuan, a national legislator and employee of the Longli County Branch of China Post Group Co, located in Southwest China's Guizhou province, expressed his special interest in the edible-oil tree industry and put forward some suggestions.

Born and raised in the countryside, Mo remains deeply concerned about agriculture, despite having worked in the city for many years. Over the last year, he has gone deep into rural areas to engage with residents and representatives from the local agricultural and forestry industry in order to understand their needs and expectations.

Edible-oil trees can be used for every-day purposes, such as cooking oil, and also have industrial uses, such as lubricants and rust prevention agents.

"The edible-oil tree industry is a long-term industry. It takes four to five years to see results, and substantial human, material, and financial resources are required in the initial stages. Without the proper funding and maintenance, it's difficult to succeed in this industry," Mo said.

Mo believes that it is crucial that new high-yield edible-oil tree bases are established and that losses due to insufficient investment and neglect are avoided. He suggested that continuous and regular support is given to those that are already engaged in edible-oil tree cultivation.

"The cultivation of these trees also practically addresses the employment issues of many rural residents. Therefore, increasing support for edible-oil tree planting bases and processing facilities is a concrete step to promote rural vitalization," Mo added.

Mo went on to propose increasing the overall coordination of edible-oil tree market resources and accelerating the construction of supporting projects. Additionally, he emphasized the need to enhance processing and reserve capabilities within the industry.

Other suggestions were to nurture large-scale tea oil processing leading enterprises, scientifically plan the layout of edible-oil tree reserve centers, establish public marketing platforms for tea oil products, and enhance the visibility and competitiveness of China's tea oil products.

"I hope our country can provide more support and assistance in the cultivation, sales, and promotion of the edible-oil tree industry," Mo concluded.
