New productive forces inject strong development momentum into WND

Wuxi New District, also known as Xinwu district, in Wuxi signed agreements on Feb 18 for three new projects, namely the intelligent manufacturing base, composite materials research institute, and trade headquarters of Yinbang Clad Material.

Yinbang is a Chinese market leader in metal composite materials, with its products holding significant market shares in emerging industries such as new energy vehicles, rail transportation, and power plant air cooling. The three newly signed projects focus on production, research, and sales respectively.

Shen Jiansheng, chairman of Yinbang Clad Material, said that the company will lead industry upgrades through technological advancements, explore the integration of advanced manufacturing and modern services, and accelerate the development of an industrial innovation center with regional influence.

In January, three high-end equipment intelligent manufacturing projects were also signed in WND. These projects include solutions to enhance the intelligence level of traditional manufacturing, the development of specialized CNC (computer numerical control) machine tools for integrated casting parts of new energy vehicles, and the development of next-generation large industrial robots. Upon completion, these three projects are expected to generate a cumulative output value exceeding 15 billion yuan ($2.08 billion) within 10 years.

Data reveals that WND has attracted over 20 projects worth over 100 million yuan each this year, with investments totaling 4.6 billion yuan across six advanced manufacturing industries including the internet of things, integrated circuits, intelligent equipment, automotive components, biomedicine, and new energy.

Additionally, over 10 new projects involving artificial intelligence, robotics, metaverse, virtual reality, and other emerging fields have also been introduced to the district, reflecting the sustained and robust momentum of the area's new productive forces.
