The Bai'etan area of Guangzhou is set to welcome a new urban landmark, the Greater Bay Area Art Center, which has completed its main construction and is scheduled to open on May 1.

This center brings together the Guangdong Museum of Art, the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center, and the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center, making it a "three-in-one" project to become a new pinnacle of Lingnan culture.

Located at the convergence of the Pearl River in the Bai'etan business district, directly across from Shamian, the Greater Bay Area Art Center stands as a prominent structure, reaching a height of 78.5 meters with 11 floors above ground and two underground. Designed by He Jingtang, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and his team from the South China University of Technology, the art center draws its architectural inspiration from the silhouette of a grand white ship ready to set sail, embodying the rich cultural essence and artistic allure of Guangzhou.

The construction of massive amounts of customized glazed ceramic plates and glass is unprecedented in Guangzhou, marking a significant architectural feat. An impressive steel structure connects the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Center with the Guangdong Museum of Art, providing a spectacular vantage point for visitors to enjoy the beauty of Bai'etan.

The opening of the Greater Bay Area Art Center is expected to enrich Guangzhou's cultural landscape significantly, attracting citizens and tourists alike to experience its offerings. Concurrently, the surrounding infrastructure and environmental improvement projects, including the construction of the Metro Line 11 Fangcun Station, are progressing to ensure convenient access and an appealing public space for all visitors.

This project not only marks a significant achievement in Guangzhou's cultural and artistic construction but also contributes to the cultural and artistic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the nation.
