The city's oil-tea camellia planting area has reached 1.91 million mu (127,333 hectares), with 1,170 established demonstration bases playing a vital role in the vitalization of rural industries.
The total output value of camellia has reached 3.56 billion yuan ($501 million), and the comprehensive annual output value of the tourism service industry, led by oil-tea camellia, has exceeded 2.5 billion yuan.
As the primary production area for oil-tea camellia in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Hechi has eight counties designated key national oil-tea camellia production areas, covering 119 towns and benefiting 163,500 households and 550,900 people.
To advance the quality development of the oil-tea camellia processing industry, the city has established a one-stop platform, inviting experts to guide the standardization of oil-tea camellia production and processing and enhance inspection and testing capabilities.
Additionally, continuous improvements in supporting facilities and the adoption of internationally leading low-temperature cold pressing technology have been implemented by local companies to produce high-quality camellia oil.
