In a bid to further optimize talent development and enhance the competitiveness of its talent policies, the city of Ordos has introduced a series of new measures.

The measures encompass five key areas, including greater efforts to attract high-level and scarce talents, strengthening incentives for talent cultivation, utilizing talent resources, creating a nurturing environment to retain talents, and optimizing existing talent development systems and mechanisms.

This includes providing not less than 3 million yuan ($410,958.9) in settlement subsidies and up to 100 million yuan for research support funds as well as the establishment of laboratories. This funding is aimed at attracting and retaining top-tier talents (Category A) on a full-time basis.

Additionally, during their tenure, an annual maximum of 10 million yuan will be granted for research team development purposes.

Outstanding talents (Category B), leading talents (Category C), top-notch talents (Category D), senior talents (Category E), and excellent talents (Category F) recruited on a full-time basis will receive settlement subsidies of 3 million yuan, 2.5 million yuan, 2 million yuan, 1 million yuan, and 800,000 yuan, respectively.

Talents engaged in natural science research will be eligible for a maximum research project funding of 50 million yuan, 30 million yuan, 10 million yuan, 5 million yuan, and 3 million yuan. Talents in social science research can apply for funding to the maximum amount of 1 million yuan, 800,000 yuan, 500,000 yuan, 300,000 yuan, and 200,000 yuan.

Ordos will also intensify its efforts to attract over 100,000 young talents within the next three years.

Elsewhere, the "Ordos Future Star" scholarship will annually select no more than 100 outstanding local college students to receive a one-time reward of 5,000 yuan for doctoral students, 3,000 yuan for master's students, and 2,000 yuan for undergraduate students.
