The first one million kilowatt wind and solar power project of China's first 10 million kilowatt multi-energy complementary comprehensive energy base in Gansu province has connected to the grid and has started generating power since Thursday.
The project in Huanxian county of Qingyang city is expected to generate over 2.271 billion kilowatt-hours yearly, saving about 681,600 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.6 million tons. It can meet the power demand of nearly 780,000 households.
