The popularity of ice and snow tourism reached new heights during this period. Various ice and snow attractions offered diverse experiences for visitors, including snow sculptures and ice lanterns, winter fishing and hunting, as well as ice and snow sports.

Rural tourism was warmly embraced by visitors. Villages such as Majia, Xiaoshizi, Deshengbao, Wangzhuang, and Dongfutian were bustling with crowds. Visitors were able to experience agricultural activities, taste local farm produce, and enjoy folk performances.

The bustling holiday tourism market owed much to local tourism services. Datong promptly launched night buses at railway stations and airports, while the transportation department organized taxis to ensure smooth connections, thus preventing any passenger congestion. Additionally, the city arranged daily tourist buses to various hotels, facilitating travel to the Yungang Grottoes, Hengshan Mountain, and the Hanging Temple scenic areas.
