Yuhuangding Temple Fair showcases rich cultural tapestry

The Yuhuangding Temple Fair in Yantai, held from Feb 14 to 19, is a beloved cultural event with a history of over 600 years. The recent edition of the fair at Yuhuangding Park saw a remarkable turnout, drawing crowds of enthusiastic locals and tourists. The first day alone saw over 30,000 visitors, a new record for the event, which was being held for the first time after a four-year hiatus.

The fair spotlighted over 2,000 performers, who presented a variety of acts, including traditional folk performances, iconic intangible cultural heritage displays, and various forms of Chinese opera. Attendees had the chance to experience a wide spectrum of performances, from traditional acts like dragon and lion dances to modern expressions like singing, dancing, magic shows, and martial arts demonstrations.
