Inner Mongolia's consumer market sees 1.03b yuan in sales

During the 2024 Spring Festival holiday, 285 monitored commercial enterprises in Inner Mongolia autonomous region collectively achieved a staggering sales revenue of 1.03 billion yuan ($142 million).

During this time, sales for clothing, communication equipment, and office supplies increased by 5.2 percent, 9.7 percent, and 21.9 percent, respectively. Gold, silver, and jewelry sales saw a surge of 33.9 percent, while that of printed materials also increased by 48.2 percent compared to the previous year.

The region's essential goods remained stable and abundant, ensuring orderly market operations.

Throughout the Spring Festival, major dining companies and e-commerce platforms in Inner Mongolia rolled out services such as dine-in reservations, in-store pickups, and home deliveries, leading to a surge in offline dining across the region.

Meanwhile, online consumption continued to rise, igniting the "heat engine" of consumer spending.

Various leagues and cities in the region organized Chinese New Year food festivals, gourmet carnivals, and food-themed events during this time, much to the satisfaction of local residents and visitors.

According to monitoring data from the Ministry of Commerce, 72 monitored catering companies in the region achieved operating revenues of 26.53 million yuan, marking a 25.8 percent year-on-year increase.
