During this year's Spring Festival holiday, Xi'an Xianyang International Airport saw a total of 7,675 takeoffs and landings, which transported 1.17 million passengers.
Compared to the previous year, this marked increases of 37.2 percent and 54.6 percent, respectively.
From Feb 14 to 17, the airport's daily passenger volume exceeded 150,000, reaching a peak of 152,600, which is a new record.
To better ensure smooth travel, the airport has actively coordinated with airlines based on passenger flow. It flexibly adjusted capacity allocation through additional flights and aircraft type substitutions.
Over the eight-day holiday, nearly 300 wide-body aircrafts were put into service, significantly surpassing the total deployed in the previous year.
The airport constructed a Lunar New Year-themed photo spot within the terminal building during the holiday. It was adorned with large red lanterns, Chinese knots, and other decorations to create a festive atmosphere.
Also, on the first day of the Lunar New Year, the airport hosted a cultural performance featuring the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and invited intangible cultural heritage inheritors to showcase their skills and present passengers with commemorative gifts.
