As of 2 pm on Feb 17, 28 key monitored scenic spots in Jinan received a total of 4.71 million visitors during the Chinese New Year holiday, which was from Feb 10 to 17, growing 55.6 percent year-on-year, and generated a revenue of 110 million yuan ($15.29 million), growth of 92.7 percent.
World's Best Spring Scenic Area and Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area, classic Jinan scenic areas, received 2.1 million visitors and 606,000 visitors, respectively, while Impression Jinan·Spring World and Sunac Resort, both new popular destinations in Jinan, received 529,000 visitors and 118,000 visitors, respectively, during the holiday.
The fervor in the culture and tourism market has also driven the catering and accommodation industries in Jinan. Statistics showed that 15 key monitored tourism accommodation facilities including Shandong Hotel, Sheraton Jinan Hotel, and the homestay cluster in Jiuru Mountain Scenic Area received a total of 25,000 stays, growing 52.4 percent year-on-year, and generated a revenue of 20.94 million yuan, growing 34.1 percent.
Jinan's diverse culture and tourism offerings, combined with its fashionable and culturally-rich experiences, contributed to the big tourist flow during the holiday.
Large-scale lantern fairs were held in locations such as Baotu Spring Scenic Area and Impression Jinan·Spring World, integrating traditional culture and innovative technology. Additionally, over 20 Chinese New Year folk activities, such as the temple fair in Daming Lake Scenic Area and the cultural fair in Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area, created a strong festive atmosphere.
Furthermore, educational tourism activities were popular during the holiday, with 53 routes and 13 preferential measures, including the study of scenic area customs, rural folk studies, and the study of intangible cultural heritage skills, making "studying in Jinan" the top choice for many parents.
