Wuxi New District, or Xinwu district, in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, hosted a symposium on Feb 4, gathering representatives from over 100 foreign-funded enterprises and foreign investment associations to discuss future development.
Over the years, foreign enterprises have played a significant role in WND, contributing to more than 60 percent of its industrial output, over 65 percent of tax revenue, and more than 70 percent of the total import and export volume.
Cui Rongguo, Party secretary of Xinwu, noted that 1,827 foreign-funded enterprises representing over 60 countries, including 68 Fortune 500 companies, have propelled the district's economic development with their advanced products, technological innovation, and brand influence. He expressed hope that these enterprises would implement more industrial projects that feature cutting-edge technologies in WND.
Chung Eun-tae, president of SK Hynix Semiconductor China and president of the Xinwu Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, acknowledged the effective measures implemented by WND government over the past year to support enterprises and enhance the business environment. He expressed the association's commitment to expanding its membership base, facilitating resource sharing among enterprises, and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships for joint development in the coming year.
