Shengsi hosts folk activities to celebrate Chinese New Year

Shengsi county in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province organized a series of vibrant folk activities on Feb 7 to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival.

The festivities offered immersive experiences centered around Chinese New Year customs, allowing participants to engage in the traditional art of making glutinous rice cakes, dumplings, and rolling tangyuan (glutinous rice balls).

Moreover, a lively market showcased an array of festive delights, including Spring Festival couplets, paper-cuts, lantern-making, and sugar-painting.

Adding to the jubilant atmosphere were traditional games such as cuju (a form of football), archery, pitch-pot, and coin tossing, which brought joy and excitement to all attendees.
