Liu Qiang, Party secretary of Jinan, met with a delegation led by French Ambassador to China Bertrand Lortholary in Jinan on Feb 5.
Liu introduced the economic and social development of Jinan at the meeting.
As this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, Liu laid out expectations on both sides to further expand friendly cooperation and seek more opportunities for collaboration in areas such as economy, trade, culture, industry, and technology.
Jinan will provide high-quality and efficient services for French enterprises, groups, and talent visiting Jinan in order to facilitate deeper and more substantial cooperation between the two sides, Liu added.
Lortholary said that France has a strong foundation for cooperation with Shandong and Jinan in terms of both economy and culture. He hopes that both sides can further deepen cooperation in green, low-carbon initiatives, technological innovation, and cultural exchanges, as well as continuously strengthen friendly relations, achieving mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
Han Wei and Yang Li, both vice-mayors of Jinan, also attended the meeting.
