Two key transportation projects in Huangpu district, the Yonghe Tunnel, and the Xinglong Avenue Overpass, have reached significant construction milestones.
On Jan 27, the Yonghe Tunnel was completed, a crucial thoroughfare connecting the north and south of Huangpu. The tunnel spans 2.12 kilometers, with a newly constructed section consisting of a single tunnel with three lanes extending 1.17 km from south to north. The opening of the Yonghe Tunnel is set to significantly alleviate traffic congestion in the area, improving daily commutes for residents.
Following closely, on Jan 28, the Xinglong Avenue Overpass was opened to traffic. The overpass, approximately 700 meters in length and featuring six lanes in both directions, connects the southern part of the China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, Yongjiu Expressway, and Yonglong Avenue. The opening of this overpass, an integral part of Kaifang Avenue, is expected to significantly enhance travel convenience and economic benefits for residents along its route.
The completion of these two projects is set to strengthen Huangpu's transportation network and drive the area's socio-economic development, contributing significantly to the construction of a new urban layout in Guangzhou.
