Scenic spots in Shanxi offer discounts over Spring Festival holiday

To welcome the upcoming Spring Festival holiday from Feb 10 to 18, Shanxi has launched a discount program for A-rated tourist attractions, with the initial list including 59 participating scenic spots.

Among them, 29 attractions offer free first-entry tickets to domestic and other specified visitors, while 15 attractions offer reciprocal first-entry ticket exemptions with certain regions.

For example, from Feb 1 to 29, the Hengshan Mountain scenic area in Datong is offering free first-entry tickets, while the city's Yungang Grottoes Scenic Area is providing free first-entry tickets to students from Shanxi and Hebei provinces, Beijing, Tianjin, and Inner Mongolia autonomous region until April 30.

In addition to the free first-entry ticket, many scenic spots have introduced ticket discounts. For instance, from Feb 1 to 29, the Xinzhou Dingxiang River Folk Museum is offering a 20-percent discount on first-entry tickets, while the wooden Sakyamuni Pagoda in Yingxian county is providing a 50-percent discount on first-entry tickets.
