North China's Shanxi province saw its utilized foreign investment soar to $1.28 billion in 2023, marking a significant increase of 55.41 percent year-on-year.
According to the Shanxi Commerce Department, the foreign investment in the province's secondary industry reached $1.14 billion, reflecting a 60.65-percent year-on-year increase, while investment in its tertiary industry reached $148 million, up 24.22 percent year-on-year.
Countries such as the United States and Australia were the primary sources of foreign investment in Shanxi.
