Central China's Hubei province recently released its 2023 list of provincial corporate technology centers, of which 37 are based in Wuhan.
A total of 13 enterprises located in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC) made it onto the list, ranking first in the city in terms of number.
The zone's provincial corporate technology center is highly innovative and has prominent advantages in development scale and competence. The Hubei government encourages such recognized centers to undertake relevant national and provincial R&D tasks. To encourage this, the government grants them corresponding favorable policies.
The Optics Valley of China has been implementing an innovation-driven development strategy, and is now working hard to strengthen the major role enterprises have in the innovation process. So far, OVC boasts one national industrial innovation center, 26 State-level corporate technology centers, 112 provincial corporate technology centers, and 71 provincial engineering research centers.
OVC is currently building its “lab + major sci-tech facilities + national innovation hub” strategic sci-tech echelon. The valley's position as one of China's innovation powerhouses is now more prominent, thanks to a series of frontier sci-tech achievements that have emerged from it.
