The Harbin Asia Speed Skating Marathon took place in the Harbin New Area Outdoor Ice Sports Center, the largest outdoor ice rink in Asia, on Jan 27.
Over 1,000 speed skating enthusiasts from various countries and regions across Asia gathered to compete in 20 events across 10 categories.
It's worth noting that this event was formerly known as the National Speed Skating Marathon, and that three editions have been successfully held in Harbin.
This year, with the approval of World Skate Asia, the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau, and the Harbin municipal government, the event was upgraded to an Asian-level competition.
Participants were divided into professional and amateur groups, spanning a wide range of ages, most between 5 and 79 years old.
This event aimed to establish a widely influential speed skating marathon event across all of Asia.
