Since the beginning of the year, several key transportation projects in Huangpu district, Guangzhou, have made significant strides. Notably, the middle section of Kaifang Avenue accomplished a major milestone by completing the continuous beam construction at the East Second Ring Interchange, laying a solid foundation for the entire route.
This project encompasses constructing new bridges, enhancing existing roads, pedestrian overpasses, flood drainage channel renovations, and other significant works.
Kaifang Avenue, one of Huangpu's three major transportation arteries, stretches from south to north, linking vital areas such as Guangzhou South Railway Station, Panyu, Nansha, Baiyun airport, and Conghua. It also connects major economic platforms like China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (CSGKC), Guangzhou Science City, and Guangzhou Maritime Silk Road City, poised to become crucial hubs for integrating various resource elements.
Concurrently, work on the Datongling Tunnel of the Guangzhou Science City to CSGKC Expressway Rapid Passage has progressed smoothly. Spanning approximately 10 kilometers and with a total investment of about 4.83 billion yuan ($676.2 million), completing this passage will significantly shorten the travel time between the two areas.
The recent opening of Changjian Second Road has also injected new vitality into the regional transportation network, significantly alleviating traffic pressures in the Changlingju area and creating a more convenient travel environment for residents.
The successful implementation of these transportation projects not only accelerates the development of the north-south axis within the area but also plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall strength of the city and promoting the dynamic cyclical development of the regional economy and society.
