Hefei Airport posts strong growth in 2023

Hefei Xinqiao International Airport, the main airport serving Hefei – capital city of East China's Anhui province – saw record passenger and cargo traffic in 2023.

Overall, passenger traffic reached 11.171 million in 2023, soaring 95.6 percent year-on-year.

The airport currently operates 120 regular domestic, international and regional passenger routes. These connect with all the provincial capital cities in China that have civil aviation facilities, as well as major economic cities and popular tourist destinations.

In terms of cargo, the air hub function of Hefei Xinqiao International Airport has been continuously optimized and improved and air logistics is said to be showing a high-quality development trend.

Moreover, the airport has opened three domestic all-cargo routes to Shenzhen, Ezhou and Zhengzhou. It has also opened seven international all-cargo routes, servicing destinations that include Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, and New York in the United States, Incheon in South Korea, Osaka in Japan, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
