Jinan's GDP reached 1.28 trillion yuan ($177.7 billion) in 2023, an increase of 6.1 percent compared to 2022.
The added value of Jinan's primary, secondary and tertiary industries hit 42.95 billion yuan, 431.2 billion yuan, and 801.59 billion yuan, respectively, in 2023, increases of 4.1 percent, 7.8 percent, and 5.2 percent.
Statistics show that Jinan's grain sowing area, total output, and yields have grown for five consecutive years, with the total annual sowing area reaching 4,858 square kilometers in 2023, increasing 12.67 sq km over the previous year, while the total grain output reached 3.03 million metric tons, an increase of 67,000 tons compared to the previous year and a record high.
The added value of Jinan's industries above designated size saw rapid growth as well, with a growth rate of 12.4 percent over the previous year.
The equipment manufacturing industry achieved a 30.6-percent increase, propelling overall city growth by 10.1 percentage points. Specifically, the automotive manufacturing industry, computer communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry, and general equipment manufacturing industry soared 133.3 percent, 21.2 percent, and 19.1 percent, respectively.
Statistics also show that Jinan's fixed-asset investment rose 2.1 percent in 2023 compared to the previous year. Investment in economies featuring new technologies, new industries, new business formats, and new models grew 27.4 percent over the previous year and accounted for 50.6 percent of the city's total.
Jinan saw its consumption rebound as well, with 519.9 billion yuan in total retail sales of consumer goods, an increase of 6.6 percent over the previous year.
Jinan's general public budget revenue reached 106.08 billion yuan, with tax revenue amounting to 79.79 billion yuan.
The total import and export volume of the city reached 216.1 billion yuan, representing a 0.3-percent increase compared to the previous year. Specifically, exports amounted to 137.34 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.1 percent, while imports reached 78.76 billion yuan, an increase of 2.8 percent compared to the previous year.
The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in Jinan reached 62,506 yuan and 25,587 yuan, respectively, increases of 5.1 percent and 7.3 percent over the previous year.
During the same period, Jinan's consumer price index rose 0.6 percent, which was 0.8 percentage point lower than the rate of the previous year.
