The 2024 Annual Goods Street event in Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – kicked off on Jan 26 and will run to Jan 28 at the downtown Courtyard Horticultural Center.
Returning to the same venue as last year, the event is aiming to build on its success, featuring a raft of great stalls showing off Taizhou's traditional products and brands.
Locals can once again enjoy their favorites like Jingjiang dried pork slices, Huangqiao bucket baked rolls and Xuanbao wontons.
This year, organizers have added a special sales area for agricultural products from Northwest China's Shaanxi province, introducing produce and tasty treats like beef and lamb, apples, kiwis and persimmon cakes.
With over 500 prime agricultural products and more than 1,000 pots of various flowers and plants, the event promises to have a real festive vibe.
What's more, the Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation Taizhou branch is presenting the Yangtze River natural resources and goods exhibition and the Jiangsu Shuxin Consumer Goods Festival Taizhou branch.
Attendees can receive two 福 or fu happiness and good fortune characters by following the jiangsuxinguohuo WeChat official account. Shopping perks include sports lottery tickets and calligraphed fu characters for qualifying purchases.
To add to the excitement, organizers are offering 15,000 kilograms of premium Xinghua rice, with folks eligible to buy a bag each upon presenting their ID. Limited to 500 bags in the morning and afternoon each day, it's first-come, first-served.
The event also promises a lively entertainment program and welcomes skilled artisans to showcase their talent, offering on-site demonstrations in lantern making, sugar sculptures and making candied hawthorns.
