Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA, located in Nantong city, Jiangsu province, witnessed marked growth in major indicators of economic and social development in 2023.
From January to November, the general public budget revenue reached 6.33 billion yuan ($882 million), and local tax revenue reached 5.53 billion yuan, ranking the area first in the city. The actual use of foreign investment reached $540 million.
Statistics show that, last year, NETDA inked 56 projects with a registered capital of 500 million yuan. Total investment surpassed 46.5 billion yuan, including 18 foreign-funded projects with a total investment of over $1.3 billion and 38 domestic projects with a total investment of around 37.3 billion yuan.
"With the full support and efficient service of the development area, we completed project construction and entered into production smoothly in just about six months," said Long Guozhu, the general manager of Jiangsu Linyang Solar Energy Co, which is based in the development area.
Environmental indicators showcased significant improvement in terms of air quality, water quality and soil conditions.
In addition, the development area also took measures to enhance the business environment. The "credit commitment + pre-approval" process has been implemented, and a dedicated "project manager" service team was established, reducing the time from signing major projects to commencement from an average of eight months to within four months.
