The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone – located in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province – held a ceremony on Jan 23 to mark the start of production for 10 life sciences and healthcare industry projects.
The projects, with a total investment of about 4.88 billion yuan ($680 million), are expected to generate an additional annual output value of about 4.5 billion yuan.
The projects are focused on high-end medical devices, innovative drug research and development, as well as in vitro diagnostic reagents. They are characterized by high development quality, strong clustering effects and favorable industry prospects.
The launch of the projects is said to be a testament to Hefei high-tech zone's commitment to developing the life sciences and healthcare industry, its confidence in pursuing high-quality development and its dedication to providing strong project services.
The start of operations for the 10 biopharma projects in the Hefei high-tech zone is expected to further consolidate its industrial foundation, optimize the industrial structure, enhance the industrial quality, and promote industrial clustering.
It is also seen as injecting a strong momentum into the high-quality development of Hefei's biopharma industry.
