Eight sets of traditional lanterns will illuminate Dongguan Street and the Dongmen Heritage Square in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, in early February to welcome the Year of the Dragon.
Among the highlights are two 10-meter-long, 3-meter-high golden dragon lanterns and a set of 5-meter-tall cartoon dragon lanterns.
Sun Yubo, master craftsman and representative inheritor of Yangzhou lantern art, who helped design and produce the lanterns, said, "We have combined traditional techniques with modern craftsmanship to achieve a better effect.”
Crafted with silk fabric and utilizing heat transfer printing technology, the lanterns boast a higher level of color reproduction. All of them use new light sources and energy-efficient technology, emphasizing energy conservation and environmental friendliness. The lanterns come to life when lit, immersing everyone in a joyful and festive atmosphere.
