The 2023 Wuxi government work report places a spotlight on the notable accomplishments of Xinwu district.
For example, the district, also known as Wuxi National Hi-Tech District, secured investments exceeding 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion) in six provincial major projects and over 35 billion yuan in 61 municipal-level major industrial projects in 2023, ranking first in Wuxi in both categories.
The district welcomed three new listed companies and set a historic record with 33 companies being recognized as national-level "little giants", 2.5 times the number from the previous year. These newly recognized enterprises are involved in industries such as the internet of things, integrated circuits, biomedicine, intelligent equipment, automotive components, and new energy.
Xinwu also played a pivotal role in hosting key events last year, including the 2023 EU-China Industrial Innovation & Cooperation Conference and the 30th Anniversary of Wuxi Singapore Industrial Park.
The 2023 EU-China Industrial Innovation & Cooperation Conference witnessed the signing of 28 projects amounting to nearly 2 billion euros ($2.18 billion) in total investment. Furthermore, the 30th Anniversary of Wuxi Singapore Industrial Park saw 23 projects sign agreements to settle in the Wuxi Singapore Science and Technology Innovation City, with a combined investment of 46.4 billion yuan.
