China Eastern Airlines announced restoring direct flights between Shanghai and Perth, Australia starting Friday (January 19), and with the launch of flights between Shanghai and Cairns since February 1st, the airliner is going to operate 60 flights per week between China and Australia at peak time during the upcoming Spring Festival travel rush, according to the Shanghai-based carrier.
The Shanghai-Perth flights will be operated every Monday, Thursday and Saturday between January 19 and February 17, while the Shanghai-Cairns flights will be available every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from February 1 to February 18, said China Eastern.
China Eastern has recently accelerated its pace in resuming international flights and expanding capacity to meet the rising air traveling demand during the upcoming Spring Festival travel rush that starts on January 26 through March 5.
In addition to the new direct flights, the carrier is also going to increase its flights between Shanghai and Sydney to three per day from January 26 and February 28, making its weekly flight amount to 60 in peak time.
