The 13th Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) – the top political advisory body in North China's Shanxi province – started its second session in the provincial capital Taiyuan on Jan 22.
The opening conference was attended by 507 political advisers, including Wu Cunrong, chairman of the 13th CPPCC Shanxi Committee.
Wu delivered the 13th CPPCC Shanxi Committee's work report at the session, which reviewed the efforts and achievements made in 2023, and then setting out the work plan for 2024.

Li Zhengying, vice-chairman of the 13th CPPCC Shanxi Committee, reported on the handling of proposals from members of the 13th CPPCC Shanxi Committee at the session.
Some 1,123 proposals from individuals, political parties and various organizations have been collected since the first session of the 13th CPPCC Shanxi Committee in January 2022, said Li.
Among the proposals, 912 were put on record for further discussion and implementation. These proposals reflect opinions and suggestions of people in Shanxi, and they also fully express the wishes and voices of society.
