A regular freight train service connecting Yinchuan, capital city of China's northwestern Ningxia Hui autonomous region, to Qingdao Port in the country's eastern Shandong province officially opened on Jan 15.
The goods on the train that arrive at Qingdao Port will continue their journey to ports at home and abroad, including those in Guangdong and Fujian provinces, and in Columbia and Turkey.
The rail-sea intermodal trip connecting Ningxia with the rest of the world through Qingdao Port was first launched in July 2023. Since the start of 2024, the freight train service between Yinchuan and Qingdao Port has been running three times a week.
The freight train service is set to bring more efficient services to customers in Yinchuan and surrounding areas and promote cross-border trade in the region.
