The Yangzhou Heritage Treasures Museum in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province is set to open its doors on Jan 20.
This museum brings together the exquisite collections of the Yangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum, the Yangzhou Jade Carving Museum, the Yangzhou Lacquerware Museum, and the Chinese Paper Cutting Museum. Additionally, it serves as the Yangzhou branch of the China Printing Museum.
Within the museum, visitors can explore a series of artwork by renowned artists. Notably, the exhibition includes the masterpiece Mantis Shrimp and White Cabbage, designed by Master Jiang Chunyuan and crafted by Master Shi Qingmei.
This piece, recognized as the largest and heaviest jade carving of a cabbage in the country, was a highlight of the Expo 2010 Shanghai China and now stands as the centerpiece of the museum.
In addition, the museum features notable works of Yangzhou lacquerware and embroidery. Visitors can use digital technology to appreciate scanned reproductions of original artworks, including the intricately presented woodblock print, A Group of Immortals Offer Birthday Congratulations.
The museum also houses a cultural store and an auction hall, making it not only an exhibition space but also a cultural hub, a tourist destination, a leisure spot, and a shopping venue.
