Guiyang, Gui'an tourism market booms during New Year's Day holiday

During the New Year's Day holiday, which lasted from Dec 30 to Jan 1, the tourism market of Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area saw a remarkable start to 2024.

From Dec 31 to Jan 1, the Guiyang Roadside Music Festival was held at the Guiyang International Convention and Exhibition Center. It featured an outdoor area of 9,000 square meters, and included a car boot sale, creative cultural products market, photo shoot locations, and a tent area.

On Jan 1 at 9 am, the Guiyang-Gui'an 53rd annual fitness run for welcoming the New Year began at the east gate of Guanshanhu Park. A total of 15,000 running enthusiasts gathered at the main venue of Guanshanhu district, while another 12,000 people started running at six sub-venues in Yunyan, Huaxi, Wudang, Qingzhen, Kaiyang, and Xifeng.

Libraries, museums, and other cultural venues also emerged as popular destinations during the holiday season. A variety of public cultural activities were offered at these locations, such as the New Year's Guqin (an ancient Chinese musical instrument) music concert at the Guizhou Provincial Library, offline parent-child workshops at the Guiyang Children Library, and grassroots cultural activities and New Year music concerts at the Guiyang Qunyi Art Center.
