Jining rural culture, tourism festival kicks off today

The Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival in China. To celebrate the upcoming Year of the Dragon, the 2024 Jining Rural Cultural Tourism Festival was held on Jan 18.

The tourism festival coincides with the Laba Festival, which is celebrated on the eighth day of the 12th Chinese lunar month.

Jining has launched a series of activities to promote its rural folk culture during the event. These activities include folk customs experiences, local operas, exhibitions, book fairs, and savoring local delicacies. The event will run until March 11, the second day of the second Chinese lunar month.

The Temple and Cemetery of Confucius and the Kong Family Mansion in the city's Qufu will also introduce experiential projects such as woodblock printing and bronze rubbing workshops and shadow puppet plays that create more interactive and immersive experiences for visitors.
