New energy equipment manufacturer Sungrow Power kicked off construction of its national industrial design center and solar power inverter plant on Jan 2 in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone - located in Hefei city, capital of East China's Anhui province.
Sungrow Power is a key national high-tech enterprise. It specializes in the research and development, production, sales and servicing of new energy power supply equipment - including solar energy, wind energy, energy storage, hydrogen energy and electric vehicles.
The company is said to be the earliest company in the country to be engaged in the R&D and production of inverter products, and it boasts the largest global shipments of solar power inverters.
With a total investment of around 1.05 billion yuan ($146 million) and a planned construction area of about 152,000 square meters, the new facility is designed to be developed in two phases, comprising seven standalone buildings. The first phase will include the construction of two individual structures.
The endeavor - integrating inspection and tests, smart manufacturing, and support services - aligns with the nation's strategic shift towards low-carbon and zero-carbon energy goals.
Once completed, it is expected to contribute to the establishment of efficient, innovative, and eco-friendly science and technology innovation parks in Hefei.
