The Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, is propelling the city's free trade zone (FTZ) to new heights by addressing the legal needs of both domestic and international investments.

Last September, Xiamen inaugurated the Maritime Silk Road International Legal Business Integration Service Base, solidifying its position as a hub for investment and trade services.

Comprising nearly 60 specialized institutions, the center delivers efficient legal and business services that have attracted domestic and foreign industrial projects.

The service center, which specializes in mediation, arbitration, and foreign trade compliance, currently covers 100 countries and regions. Since its inception, collaborative institutions have seen over 2,700 contracts worth more than 13.1 billion yuan ($1.83 billion) signed.

The center has greatly contributed to the creation of a market-oriented, international and professional business and law integrated industrial ecosystem in the Xiamen FTZ.

AnJie Broad Law Firm, the first to establish its presence in the FTZ, has experienced rapid growth in maritime law, international trade, Belt and Road Initiatives, and cross-border investments. The firm now offers legal services for projects in over 40 countries.

"The Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District has revitalized the rule of law and contributed innovative ideas to business environment reforms," said Shen Sibao, one of the first expert consultants of the FTZ.
