The popular Shaanxi History Museum in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, opened a branch on the civilizations of Qin (221-206 BC) and Han (206 BC- AD 220) dynasties at the end of the year. It is a trial run before the official launch later this year.
The Qinhan Museum is located in Xixian New Area, Shaanxi, and covers an area of 20 hectares. It combines various functions such as cultural heritage protection, exhibition display, academic research, science education, and tourist service.
According to Hou Ningbin, director of the Shaanxi History Museum, the new museum aims to show the origin and development of the Qin and Han dynasties and unveil their role in the development of the Chinese civilization.
The museum is free to the public and will organize various exhibitions and educational activities on different themes in the future.
The Qin and Han dynasties witnessed huge changes in, and development of, society. The museum will officially open to the public on May 18, International Museum Day.
