Datong city, North China's Shanxi province, recently added three provincial-level maker spaces.
The three are the WoChuang Cross-border E-commerce Maker Space, the Datong University Robot and Drone Maker Space, and the Yunzhou Shushang Maker Space.
The WoChuang Maker Space is a platform that integrates goods sources, sales, warehousing, and logistics. It has attracted and incubated numerous outstanding local cross-border e-commerce enterprises, providing a new sales model for traditional manufacturing companies in Datong and even the whole province.
The Datong University Maker Space serves as a comprehensive platform for popular science education, research, cultural construction, innovation, entrepreneurship, and competitions. It focuses on high-tech fields such as robotics, artificial intelligence, aerospace drones, 3D printing, and the internet of things.
The Yunzhou Maker Space connects with e-commerce platforms, cultivates e-commerce communities, incubates e-commerce entrepreneurial talent, and builds rural e-commerce logistics and distribution centers. It aims to expand the sales of local agricultural specialties.
As of now, there are 14 provincial-level maker spaces in Datong.
