The Jinan Government Services has been collaborating with Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei province to facilitate the mutual processing of high-frequency matters related to areas like social security, medical insurance, housing provident fund and real estate since 2023.
Through the government service self-service terminals in Jinan, residents can now handle 96 matters from Beijing, 87 matters from Tianjin, and 31 matters from Hebei. At the same time, more than 60 high-frequency matters from Jinan are also available for processing in the three regions.
For example, a woman surnamed Huo from Beijing printed her service registration information regarding giving birth at an integrated government service self-service terminal in Jinan.
"My company is headquartered in Beijing, and I am currently responsible for a business in Jinan. I frequently travel between the two cities. Now, I can handle Beijing-related matters at the self-service terminal in Jinan with my ID card, and this solves the problem of commuting between the two cities for me," she said.
Located between Beijing and Shanghai, Jinan's advantages in coordinated development are becoming increasingly prominent.
"By sharing resources and connecting data, we can enable cross-regional self-service processing of matters, and this can further reduce transaction costs for market entities and enhance the attractiveness of Jinan as a talent hub," said an official from Jinan Government Services.
"Jinan will continue to promote the cross-regional processing model of self-service, expand the cooperation to more cities, and provide greater convenience for businesses and the public in handling interprovincial affairs," the official added.
