The Guiyang urban express railway loop line officially commenced operations on March 30, 2022, spanning approximately 113 kilometers.
Following a clockwise direction, the loop line includes 17 railway stations: Guiyangbei, Guiyang, Shuanglongnan, Mengguan, Huaxinan, Huaxi University City, Dangwu, Tianhetan, Huchaodong, Luguang, Gui'an, Huaxixi, Jinhua Town, Jinyangnan, Jinyang, Baiyunxi, and Baiyunbei.
The whole trip takes just 1 hour and 18 minutes. It is also the first loop urban railway in the country.
On July 1 this year, the loop line successfully inaugurated the deployment of high-speed train sets for the first time. This development facilitated connectivity with seven primary mainline railways, encompassing notable routes such as the Chongqing-Guiyang Railway, Shanghai-Kunming High-speed Railway, Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway, and Chengdu-Guiyang High-speed Railway. The integration of these railways culminated in the establishment of a comprehensive railway network centered around Guiyang.
The railway network has connections to important cities such as Zunyi, Bijie, Liupanshui, Duyun, Kaili, Kaiyang, Tongren, and others. Additionally, it extends its reach to Chongqing, Sichuan, Hunan, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Fujian, and other provinces.
Along the loop line are numerous tourist attractions and city landmarks, including Wushan Gorge, Huaxi Park, Qingyan Ancient Town, Tianhetan scenic area, Yueliang Lake, Guanshanhu Park, Huaxi University City, and Guizhou Provincial Museum.
The loop line also connects with other major public transportation means such as subways, buses, national railways, and the civil aviation airport, facilitating better services for residents' travel needs.
It is also expected to promote coordinated development in Guiyang's various regions and play a demonstrative role in the economic and social development of Guiyang as a capital city.
