Chinese auto manufacturer BYD's base in Xi'an maintained its growth momentum in 2023, with its output value hitting a record high. In December, its monthly output of new energy vehicles (NEVs) exceeded 100,000.
In 2003, BYD acquired Xi'an Qinchuan Automobile Co and settled in Xi'an in order to enter the automobile industry.
After 20 years of development, BYD began to explore the NEV, consumer electronics, rail transit, power batteries, and auto finance industries in Xi'an. In order to do this, the company created a complete NEV industrial chain that integrates R&D, production, sales, and auto finance.
In 2022, BYD became the largest manufacturing enterprise in Shaanxi, helping Xi'an rank first in NEV production in the country.
BYD is currently building a globally important NEV production base in Xi'an in order to make greater contributions to the city's high-quality development.
As of December 2023, BYD's base in Xi'an has had a daily NEV output of over 3,600. BYD has adopted a highly integrated business model that minimizes production costs and improves efficiency.
Currently, BYD's base in Xi'an has established a R&D team of tens of thousands of people who are responsible for vehicle R&D, design, trial production, and testing.
BYD will promote various projects to achieve production and results as soon as possible in order to contribute more to Xi'an's high-quality economic development.
