Nantong development area inks cooperation agreement with ECUST

The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area in Jiangsu province signed a cooperation agreement with East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai on Dec 28, aiming to accelerate integration within Yangtze River Delta development.

With this collaboration, both parties will work together to deliver more substantial outcomes in scientific research, project cooperation and talent cultivation.

ECUST boasts three national first-class disciplines in chemistry, materials science and engineering, and chemical engineering and technology. Leveraging the strategic advantages of NETDA's location, outstanding innovation environment, and favorable talent and scientific and technological policies, the partnership aims to capitalize mutual benefits in pursuing shared development goals.

In recent years, the development area has placed a premium on innovation-driven development, focusing on cultivating a fertile environment for scientific and technological innovation. It has implemented a three-year action plan to support the growth of high-tech enterprises, attracting investment in science and technology and creating an innovative enterprise cluster based around both technology-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises as well as high-tech enterprises.

Over the course of 2023, the development area successfully attracted nearly 200 talent-driven scientific and technological innovation projects and facilitated over 300 cooperation agreements between universities and enterprises in research and development.
