Ctrip, a leading Chinese travel platform, released its "2024 New Year Holiday Travel Report," revealing that domestic travel bookings during the three-day holiday period experienced a remarkable 168 percent year-on-year increase.
Among them, Harbin, the capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, also known as "Ice City", witnessed a significant surge of 158 percent in tourist bookings.
During the New Year holiday, Harbin attracted a diverse range of visitors, with 75 percent of them coming from other cities. The majority of these visitors hailed from Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing.
Of all other domestic destinations that cater to customized tours during this year's New Year holiday, Harbin claimed the top spot. Its popularity can be attributed to its enchanting ice and snow attractions, which captivated the hearts of travelers.
