The Shanxi-Taiwan Digital Economy Integration and Development Forum was held on Dec 28 in Gaoping, North China's Shanxi province.
The forum brought together Taiwan business representatives, experts and scholars, representatives from the Shanxi Association of Science and Technology, officials of the Shanxi Taiwan Affairs Office, and officials of relevant departments and bureaus in Shanxi. They discussed ideas and shared experiences related to digital entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence, fostering better cross-Strait cooperation and exchange in the digital economy field.
The forum included keynote speeches, business-to-local exchanges, and brand roadshows, all of which will further drive digital economy development in both Shanxi and Taiwan. It will also help build a comprehensive industrial chain and ecological system that will deepen economic and cultural exchanges.
In recent years, Shanxi has introduced a series of policies and implemented 68 specific measures to promote exchanges with Taiwan. Efforts have also been made to build competitive digital economy industrial clusters that will provide broad cooperation prospects in the digital economy field between Shanxi and Taiwan.
Since 2016, Gaoping has hosted the Cross-Strait Yan Emperor Economic and Trade Cultural Tourism Investment Promotion Series eight times, attracting tens of thousands of Taiwan participants. Gaoping city has also established the Cross-Strait (Gaoping) Industrial Park, which provides a fertile ground for investment and development for Taiwan businesses. Currently, 18 Taiwan-funded enterprises have settled in Gaoping.
