Jinan sees tourism boom during New Year holiday

Twenty key monitored tourist attractions in Jinan, including Baotu Spring, Qianfo Mountain, and Wild World Jinan, received a total of 572,000 visitors and generated operating revenues of 15 million yuan ($2.11 million), a year-on-year growth of 82.4 percent and 78 percent respectively on a comparable basis, during the New Year holiday from Dec 30, 2023 to Jan 1, 2024.

Among the 14 monitored tourist accommodation facilities, including Shandong Hotel, Enlux Hotel, and Sheraton Jinan Hotel, a total of 8,512 visitors were received, an increase of 274.48 percent compared to the previous year. Operating revenues of the hotels were 9.31 million yuan, a growth of 100.65 percent year-on-year. The average bed occupancy rate was 70 percent.

Preliminary statistics showed that the city received a total of 355,000 registered accommodation guests during the New Year holiday, a year-on-year increase of 211.85 percent.

During the holiday, popular skiing resorts such as Jinxiang Mountain Ski Resort, Jiudingta Ski Resort, and Wohu Mountain Ski Resort offered various exciting snow activities, such as parent-child snow recreation and campfires.

Various cultural events also took place in Jinan during the holiday, with major theaters and venues presenting over 20 New Year shows such as music concerts, dramas, operas, and acrobatics.
