Qingdao, a city in Shandong province, has been dedicated to exploring new ways to drive rural vitalization.
The city recently introduced a series of measures such as labor training and introducing cultural performances to the rural areas to promote agricultural trade and boost consumption as part of rural vitalization efforts.
The city considers skilled talents as key players in rural vitalization. By organizing rural vitalization skills competitions and related activities, the West Coast New Area has built a platform for rural skilled talents to display their skills and learn from each other, guide the rural labor force in developing skills, and strengthen the construction of rural talent teams.
In Wangjiazhuang village in Jimo district, a bookstore was recently built to offer villagers a new space to read and enrich themselves. The city has also organized various cultural performance across its rural areas.
Investment has also been channeled towards infrastructure upgrades. In Huangniya village in the Laoshan Scenic Area, a street dedicated to selling local specialties has been built using investments from Qingdao Hi-Tech Industrial Development Co Ltd.
Ecological preservation is also at the top of the agenda. For example, a green landscape belt has been built along the river running through Chanzhihu New Village in Laixi city to improve the quality of life.
