In 2023, the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region forged ahead to achieve remarkable results in economic and social development.
During the first three quarters of 2023, Ordos' GDP hit 412.77 billion yuan ($56.54 billion), marking a growth rate of 7.0 percent compared to the previous year.
From January to November, the city's general public budget revenue reached 85.78 billion yuan, experiencing a 7.3-percent increase year-on-year, ranking first in the entire region.
Meanwhile, the city's Juungar Banner, Ejin Horoo Banner, and Otog Banner have become part of China's top 50 "Strongest Industrial Counties" in 2023.
Dongsheng district made it onto the list of "China's Top 100 Industrial Areas," becoming the only one in Inner Mongolia to receive this honor.
From January to November, the added value of Ordos's industrial enterprises above a designated scale also saw an increase of 5.9 percent year-on-year, ranking it sixth in the entire region. This growth rate is 1.6 percentage points higher than the national average.
Additionally, Ordos achieved a grain output of 2.18 billion kg this year.
