A press conference held by the information office of Inner Mongolia autonomous regional government took place on Dec 26 to announce significant achievements in the region's energy sector. By the end of the year, the region will achieve 10 national firsts and made three breakthroughs.
Inner Mongolia will claim the top national ranking in various areas of the new energy sector, including total installed capacity, newly installed capacity, and electricity generation.
The region will also rank first in coal transport volume, coal supply completion, and coal gasification capacity.
Moreover, investment in Inner Mongolia's energy and new energy equipment manufacturing projects will continue to make big breakthroughs, as the total value is set to exceed 300 billion yuan ($41.10 billion) by the end of the year. Furthermore, the total installed capacity of new energy will surpass 90 million kW, and the total installed capacity of electricity will exceed 200 million kW.
Elsewhere, the annual coal production in the region is estimated to reach around 1.22 billion metric tons, making Inner Mongolia the second-largest coal producer in the country.
The region's coal gasification capacity is expected to reach 4.3 billion cubic meters per year, ranking first nationally. Its coal gasification output will reach 2.8 billion cubic meters, a 3-percent year-on-year increase.
Additionally, the crude oil production in Inner Mongolia is estimated to reach 2.9 million tons, showing a 17-percent year-on-year increase. Its coal-to-oil production is also expected to reach 1.1 million tons, while its natural gas production is projected to reach 31 billion cubic meters, a 1.3-percent year-on-year increase.
