Huangpu district in Guangzhou recently held its 2023 fourth-quarter major project signing, completion, and trial operation event.
A total of 111 significant projects were completed and launched for trial operation, covering strategic emerging industries and future industries such as new-generation information technology, integrated circuits, biomedicine, intelligent equipment, and technological research and development. In addition, 21 major projects, including several low-altitude economy projects, were signed.
The total investment in these projects is approximately 109.8 billion yuan ($16.47 billion), with an expected operational output and business income of about 147.2 billion yuan. Notably, industrial and technological research and development projects comprise about 85 percent of the total projects.
Concurrently, Huangpu released several measures and detailed policy implementation rules to promote high-quality development in the low-altitude economy, offering subsidies of up to 30 million yuan for eligible low-altitude industrial projects, aiming to accelerate the creation of a future trillion yuan-level industry cluster.
This initiative by Huangpu demonstrates its commitment to driving high-quality economic and social development and shows continued focus and investment in future industries. Implementing these projects is expected to strengthen the region's industrial competitiveness further, injecting new vitality into the area's economic growth.
